Join Rockville Science Center members on a tour of Gallauadet University ‘s Science, Technology, and Math department conducted by a Department Chair Dr. Caroline Solomon,
On the tour Dr, Solomon will share with us general information about Gallaudet and its academic programs, residential and commuter life, and extensive curricular and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Dr. Solomon will discus how Gallaudet University uses pedagogy and technology to aid their staff in communicating with their students to facilitate STEM education.
This month’s Explorations! Field Trip is a unique opportunity to learn about this very special educational institution.
Plan to visit the Gallaudet museum after the tour.
There is an eatery on campus.
NoMa-Gallaudet U New York Avenue Metro Station:
Allow yourself time for a leisurely walk from metro to the University.
– Exit Metro at the “M” street exit. Head East on “M St. NE toward the University.
– Turn left onto 6th street
– Cross Florida ave. and continue on 6th street.
– Turn right into the University entrance.
– Continue straight to Lincoln Cir, NE.
– The Edward Miner Galludate building is in front to you. The Welcome center is in this building.
There is a campus parking garage on at the 6th street. The university said you will find a space there. There is np cost to park. Ask the guard to direct you to the Maguire Welcome Center. Remember you are coming down on the tail end of rush hour. Traffic will be terrible.
Shuttle from Union Station:
There is a Shuttle to Gallaudet from union Station. You will want to look at the web site and call the school (202.651.5050) for details about locating the shuttle. Shuttle information is here.
