Intro to 3D modeling with Fusion 360 – Rockville RSC Makerspace (Rockville, MD) | Meetup

  • Autodesk Fusion 360 is a 3 dimensional, solid modeling software that makes learning solid modeling easy and accessible. Fusion 360 competes with leading edge software packages but is completely free for makers and hobbyists! Join us for an introductory class so you can start creating your own files for 3D printing, CNC routing or just to help illustrate a product idea. During this class, students will learn how to:
    •Start a Fusion 360 part file
•Navigate the Fusion 360 tool bar and 3D environment
    •Create 2D sketches
    •Turn 2D sketches into 3D extrusions
    •Modify 3D models
•Save 3D models for different types of outputs (3D printing, presentations etc.)

Please bring your own laptop if available, though we do have multiple older laptops all are free to use.

Please download and install the Fusion 360 app prior. https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview An Autodesk account is required to use Fusion. If you need one see, https://accounts.autodesk.com/register Otherwise previous CAD experience is helpful but not required for this class.
