Linux / Unix User Group

August 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

At this week’s meeting, we will be demoing use of a Raspberry Pi as a stand-alone wireless access point and planning for the deployment of our own LUG “piratebox” in the library. This will eventually allow random library patrons to log in, set up their own account, and interact with others on this mini, off-the-net system.

In general, the Linux Users Group at the Rockville Science Center Makerspace is the place to go to learn more about Unix / Linux by discussing and practicing with others.

Get to know other Linux/UNIX enthusiasts. Talk about your projects. Brainstorm about ideas for future meeting. Get help with your Linux tasks or help others.

Maybe you’d like to know more about programming a Raspberry Pi, or trying out Ubuntu on a PC, or how to set up a web server or other device. This is an open forum to collaborate and share knowledge and skills. All are welcome.
