Linux / Unix User Group

July 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

At this week’s meeting, Joe Faust will lead a demo/discussion about how to install Arch Linux on a Raspberry Pi. This should include a lot of information relevant to installing on a regular laptop or desktop, so attend even if the Raspberry Pi isn’t your goal.

If there is time, we will also discuss two proposed group projects involving the build and operation of servers here in the makerspace.

In general, the Linux Users Group at the Rockville Science Center Makerspace is the place to go to learn more about Unix / Linux by discussing and practicing with others.

Get to know other Linux/UNIX enthusiasts. Talk about your projects. Brainstorm about ideas for future meeting. Get help with your Linux tasks or help others.

Maybe you’d like to know more about programming a Raspberry Pi, or trying out Ubuntu on a PC, or how to set up a web server or other device. This is an open forum to collaborate and share knowledge and skills. All are welcome.
