Science Cafe – The Fungus Among Us
June 20, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Fungus… have you ever thought about it? Some we eat, like mushrooms, some like molds are a problem, and yet others can affect our health. In her presentation, Dr. Drummond will discuss the amazing world of fungi, from how these organisms are used in production of our food and medicines, to how fungi represent a serious threat to our environmental biodiversity and human health.
Rebecca Drummond obtained her PhD from the University of Aberdeen, in the north of Scotland, UK. She moved to the NIH in Bethesda in August 2014 as a research fellow.
