Young Adult Science Cafe – Dr. Omore-Mayor

November 9, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Dr. Omire-Mayor, a native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, built upon his interests and love for policy, corporate wellness, and sports medicine by attaining a Masters of Science in Health Promotion Management. He obtained his Doctorate from Lincoln Memorial University’s Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Having grown up in the DC area, he knows firsthand the socioeconomic barriers and struggles that the undeserved population within our nation face when it comes to attaining appropriate and adequate healthcare. He is a community advocate, regularly taking part in locally based community health fairs, soup kitchens, food banks, and participating in walks for humanitarian causes. He takes his unending advocacy for public service throughout the Globe, reaching as far as the Horn of Africa, India, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Omire-Mayor’s culturally diverse and well-rounded background provide a unique scope into the challenges faced by the underserved in healthcare. His love for helping and aiding those with the greatest need brought him home to serve the DC Metropolitan Area.

Dr Omire-Mayor will be talking about his personal journey into medicine and his professional background. He will discuss how Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Medical Doctor are different, about leveraging achievements into medicine, and his growing interest in the undeserved at home and abroad. He will also share with us his thoughts on “if I knew than what I know now” and give his final remarks.

Food and Refreshments will be provided.
