Dear Friends of the RSC 2.0,
We are happy to announce that our committee to produce a Vision Statement that defines our search for a physical building is winding up its work and a finished product should be approved shortly. For the past 6 months, this committee has worked hard, dedicating their Saturday mornings twice a month to hash out the details and ideas of what the Rockville Science Center will look like in building format and where we would like it to go.
Many great ideas have surfaced, and the discussions have rendered true fruit in the form of a working plan to move forward. Our plans for 2016 are to take advantage of the State of Maryland matching grant of $75,000 ($150,000 in total) to begin studying locations and looking for partners from both the public and private sectors to help us build our science center.
Please keep us on your radar screens in the coming months. In an effort to get the word out, we may call on you to support us by renewing your membership, attending Mayor and Council meetings, or just doing some outreach activities like informing your PTA, working the homeowners’ associations or otherwise agitating in our community in favor of our efforts.
Remember: E= MC2, or Efforts to build require great Management and Double the Community effort in Rockville!
