About the event

Enjoy an evening learning about the nature of sound theory and see demonstrations including harmonic motion, hearing, interference, speed of sound, Fourier's theorem and noise cancellation.


Jim Rudert has a PhD in biomedical engineering and retired in 2020 from the University of Iowa's Orthopedic Biomechanics Research Lab. He is also a regular Rockville Science Center volunteer, teaching classes and mentoring at the Rockville Science Center’s Storefront and Makerspace.


The Rockville Numberphiles is a math club for math enthusiasts from middle school to adult. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Our interactive discussions and presentations help mathematicians explore the broad range of mathematics, its history, and problem solving.
