Reserve the
Rockville Makerspace
Looking to get started at the Makerspace? We recommend coming to one of our Open Project Times (Tuesdays, 6:00 - 8:00 PM & Saturdays, 12:00 - 4:00 PM). If you are part of a community group that would like to use our space and tools at a time other than Open Project Times, please read the following information about reserving the space and use the form below to inquire about reservations.

Reservation Requests
Groups: If your group would like to reserve the makerspace for a class or project, please contact us at least one week in advance using the form below. The Makerspace may be reserved between the hours of 11:00AM - 9:00PM and has a maximum capacity of 20 persons. There are six work areas in the makerspace, which you can learn about at the bottom of this page. Please note on your reservation form which area(s) you would like to use. Current bookings are shown on the makerspace calendar (see below) so be sure to check before requesting a specific time. After reviewing your request, we will contact you with any questions or to finalize the reservation.
Group Makerspace Rental Fee
$50 per hour (1 hour minimum, rounded to nearest 15 minutes)

Individuals: Individuals who would like to access the Makerspace outside of Open Project Times should contact us using this form. Let us know about your project and your preferred days/times and we'll try to find a mutually convenient time for you to access the Makerspace.
Note: ALL USERS are required to submit a signed waiver
prior to using the Makerspace for the first time.

Makerspace Work Areas
The Makerspace can accommodate up to 20 participants
1. Classroom Area
Includes a large screen TV, a dry erase board, and 4 tables, suitable for up to 10 people at a time.
2. Workbench Area
Includes 2 workbenches, 36" tall with 2 foot by 4 foot work surfaces, as well as a variety of basic hand tools, suitable for up to 4 people at a time. There is also a sink and small countertop nearby for projects requiring water or cleanup.
3. Workshop (Only available to trained and certified individuals)
Training and certification by RSC staff is required for every individual who wants to use the Workshop area, which includes the CNC machine, drill press, bench grinder, and scroll saw.

​Materials: The Makerspace has some art and craft supplies, including colored pencils, markers, drawing paper, glue, and tape, as well as some basic electronics materials including wire, solder, and components. If you need additional materials, please let us know, and we may be able to provide them for your group for an additional cost.
